90s Hip-Hop is the genuine fashion of the 1990s hip-hop scene — baggy jeans, oversized sports jerseys, gold chains, bucket hats, Cross Colours, FUBU, Karl Kani, Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Sport. It's distinct from contemporary Streetwear (which descends from this lineage but is now defined by drop culture and brand prestige) by being the genuine era look — Tupac in cross-colour denim, Aaliyah in baggy Tommy, Snoop in long basketball jerseys, Missy Elliott in puffer jackets. The current revival is led by vintage resellers on Depop and Grailed who source originals from the era, and by Gen-Z TikTok creators rebuilding the look from thrifted Cross Colours and FUBU finds.

Not modern Streetwear — Streetwear's drop-culture and brand-prestige model descends from this era but is a different aesthetic; 90s Hip-Hop is the genuine pre-drop-culture original.
