About

Roaring Twenties is the wider-angle counterpart to Flapper — covering the entire decade's menswear and womenswear instead of just the cocktail-hour silhouette. For men it is loose wide-leg high-waisted trousers (Oxford bags), three-piece tweed suits, waistcoats with watch chains, suspenders, newsboy and flat caps, two-tone spectator shoes and slicked-back side-parted hair. For women it spans daywear (knit jersey suits, drop-waist day dresses, T-bar shoes, cloche hats) as well as the more familiar evening flapper look. The aesthetic is currently sustained almost entirely by themed events — Gatsby parties, Prohibition speakeasies, Peaky Blinders watch parties — and by a small contingent of menswear enthusiasts who fold 1920s tailoring into their daily wardrobe via heritage labels and vintage sourcing.

Not Flapper — Roaring Twenties covers the whole decade including menswear and daywear; Flapper is specifically the beaded evening party look.
