Corporate Goth is the dress code goths develop when they get a job that requires meeting dress requirements but they refuse to give up the aesthetic. The look removes the spikes, the visible ankhs and the ripped fishnets and concentrates on tailoring: black pencil skirts and shift dresses, sharp blazers, fitted button-ups, opaque tights, pointed pumps or low-stacked Chelsea boots. Jewellery is minimal — a small silver crucifix or bat charm on a thin chain, a slim black watch, perhaps a single onyx ring — and makeup is more subdued (matte burgundy lip rather than full Siouxsie). The codes overlap with quiet luxury and minimalist dressing, but Corporate Goth keeps the all-black silhouette, the dark lipstick and the discreet occult signifier. It's been a recurring fashion-press topic since the 2010s — every couple of years a Vogue piece declares the rise of the office goth.
