Crowcore is the gothic naturalist branch of the animalcore wave, fusing dark academia, witchcore and the wider corvid-girl moment that built on Tumblr in the late 2010s and on TikTok in 2021-2023. The reference set centres the cultural mythology of crows, ravens and magpies: trickster intelligence, shiny-object collection, gothic graveyard imagery, Edgar Allan Poe and the Tower of London ravens. Garments lean on black-on-black layering, feather details, antique brass and silver corvid jewellery (skull rings, raven pendants), long dark coats, lace, leather, knitted hats with feather trims. Many wearers blend it with dark academia knits and Mary Janes for a daily-wear translation.
