About

Gorpcore takes outdoor performance gear — fleeces, hardshells, trail runners, hiking pants — and wears it on city streets. Named for 'good ol' raisins and peanuts' (trail-mix), the aesthetic emerged in the late 2010s as alpine and trail brands like Patagonia, Arc'teryx, Salomon and The North Face became status objects in fashion-aware urban scenes. The silhouettes are functional, the fabrics are technical, and the colour palette borrows from outdoor brand catalogues — burnt orange, alpine red, forest green, glacier blue.

Not Workwear — Gorpcore is synthetic, technical and alpine; Workwear is cotton, heritage and blue-collar. The shell fabric is the tell.
