Naarmcore (using the Wurundjeri/Boon Wurrung name for Melbourne) is a TikTok-coined label for a very specifically Melbourne local-fashion identity that crystallised between 2022 and 2024. The look is head-to-toe black, year-round, in any weather: oversized vintage band tee or thrifted knit, baggy cargo pants or pleated trousers, Doc Martens 1460s or chunky platform shoes, a Country Road or Baggu tote bag, a beanie regardless of temperature, a longline trench or wool coat, and circular wire-rim glasses.
