Resortwear (also Cruise Wear) is a fashion category designed for warm-climate vacations — think Saint-Tropez, Mykonos, the Hamptons, Tulum, Capri. The look centres on caftans (long flowing garments with origins in Middle Eastern and North African dress), linen sets, slip dresses, kaftans, sarongs, oversized sun hats, raffia tote bags, leather slide sandals and statement gold jewellery. Fabrics are lightweight and breathable: linen, cotton, silk, gauze, chiffon. The colour story spans either head-to-toe white/cream/oatmeal (the elevated minimalist version) or vivid prints (the maximalist Pucci-era version).
