About

Weirdcore is an internet aesthetic that deliberately evokes confusion, alienation and unease through imagery — low-resolution photos with distorted or glitchy text, liminal spaces (empty corridors, fluorescent-lit rooms, abandoned playgrounds), mismatched perspectives and uncanny early-2000s digital artefacts. Where Dreamcore aims for soft comforting surreal, Weirdcore intentionally creates discomfort. As a fashion aesthetic, Weirdcore is even thinner than Dreamcore, mostly expressing through styling decisions — clashing colour combinations, mismatched textures, oversized or ill-proportioned silhouettes, clothing that doesn't quite belong together, vintage 2000s pieces that feel slightly off, and DIY or thrift-store-curiosity elements.

Not Dreamcore — Weirdcore is intentionally unsettling and disorienting; Dreamcore is comforting surreal nostalgia.
