Volumetric Weight
A calculated weight based on parcel dimensions, used when a parcel's volume is disproportionate to its actual weight (e.g., a large, light box). Formula: Length x Width x Height (cm) / 5000. If volumetric weight exceeds actual weight, carriers charge on volumetric weight. Relevant for sellers shipping bulky lightweight items like clothing in big boxes or foam packaging — using the right-sized box avoids this surcharge.
