The name refers to the slang phrase jirai onna ('landmine woman') — a girl who looks delicate and sweet but is emotionally explosive. The wardrobe is built around contrasting black and baby pink: ribboned blouses, pleated mini skirts, oversized cardigans, long bow-tied twin pigtails, mary janes or platform loafers, oversized plush bag charms (often Kuromi or Sanrio characters), and exaggerated under-eye blush.
