Live bidding consistently pushes final sale prices 20-40% higher than fixed-price equivalents on the same items. Most sellers run a parallel static-listing channel (eBay, Depop, Grailed) for inventory that didn't sell in a live show, or for items that aren't suited to the auction format. Whatnot runs occasional 0% Commission Day promos (most recently 18 April 2026) where commission is waived for all sales during a defined window — payment processing still applies. Separately, starting 14 January 2026, the portion of an order above $1,500 attracts 0% commission in select categories (the first $1,500 is charged normally). Both are documented in the Whatnot help centre — the fee calculator doesn't model these because they're either time-bound or category-specific.
