Athleisure is the mainstream fashion category that took technical sportswear out of the gym and made it the default everyday uniform. Lululemon's late-2000s rise turned premium yoga apparel into a status object, and the wave grew through the 2010s as Alo Yoga, Outdoor Voices, Set Active, Nike and Adidas all chased the wellness-aesthetic consumer.
