Bimbocore is a hyperfeminine fashion and lifestyle aesthetic that consciously reclaims the historically derogatory term 'bimbo' as a banner of empowerment, self-expression and feminist subversion. The aesthetic took off on TikTok in 2020–2022 alongside the rise of 'BimboTok' creators like Chrissy Chlapecka and Griffin Maxwell Brooks, who paired Y2K hyperfeminine styling with explicit progressive politics. The visual world is unapologetically artificial: pink saturating everything, glitter, mini silhouettes, low-rise micro skirts, baby tees with provocative slogans, sparkly accessories, glossy lips, glamorous textures, platform heels, micro bags and a lot of attitude. Bimbocore intentionally subverts — the 'dumb' performance is satirical.
