Blokecore was coined by London-based TikToker Brandon Huntley in late 2021, fusing the British slang 'bloke' with the '-core' suffix. The look is a deliberate replica of 1990s English terrace fashion: a vintage replica football shirt (Arsenal, Newcastle, Italia '90), straight-leg or baggy Levi's (501s preferred), and Adidas Sambas, Spezials or Gazelles. Casual culture hooligans, Britpop bands like Oasis, and Sunday-pub uncles are the visual references. By 2023-2024 the trend was global — Bella Hadid, Jennie of BLACKPINK and Kendall Jenner all adopted it — and Adidas Samba sales reached such volume that the shoe sold out worldwide. Blokecore's appeal is its deliberate ordinariness: it valorises a slightly knackered, real-life masculinity over runway styling, while remaining curated to the millimetre.

Not Dadcore — Blokecore is football-pub specific (jerseys, terraces, Sambas); Dadcore is broader suburban-dad (cargos, New Balance, baseball caps).
